Observations from Point Pelee National Park

Birds, Birds, Birds!

Lori and I spent a great day out at Point Pelee National Park this past week. It was a first for me and a great opportunity to witness the Spring Migration.

We went on a guided walk that was very informative! Great If you're not sure what birds you're seeing.

Some species we saw: Indigo Bunting, Chestnut-Sided Warbler, Water Thrush, Yellow Warbler, Black and White Warbler, Eastern Kingbird, Barn and Tree Swallows, Grosbeaks, Baltimore Orioles and many others!

Some observations:

1. Birds more active and vocal in the morning

2. A good mix of birders and bird photographers were out. Some very big lenses!

3. Everyone was friendly and quick to point out the rarer birds

4. A lot of people knew one another!

It will definitely be an idea next year to go and spend a few days out there. We hardly touched all the different areas in the park you can explore!
